1) The terms and conditions apply to all business transactions carried out by 'Craigsplates.com Ltd', hereinafter referred to as the 'Company'.
2) The person applying for bespoke goods from the 'Company' is hereinafter referred to as the 'Purchaser'.
3) Your statutory rights are not affected.
It is the sole responsibility of the Purchaser to ensure that all the correct details are entered into Company Internet forms and submitted or given to the Company's representative at the time of purchase. The Company's representative shall use standard phonetics to refer to combinations requested by the Purchaser.
Platemaker is a tool to give the Purchaser an indication of the various fonts and badges available, it is not intended as an accurate representation of the final plate or sign. No guarantees are given as to the accuracy of the colours and spacing. Please note that the ONLY legal badge permitted on vehicles travelling outside the UK into Europe is the GB Euro badge.
Persuant to section 13 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 (Statutory Instrument 200 No.2334) no cancellations are accepted once your order has been placed be that by internet, telephone or through the mail. Subsequently there is no 'cooling off period', the transaction cannot be reversed and no refund can be given.
A full refund will only be given provided that the failure is through no fault of the Purchaser but by the Company. The Company's liability is strictly limited to a full refund only and no claims for damages; interest on monies paid or any other expenses shall be entertained. In certain circumstances, if you contact us before your plate is made we can credit your order minus a GBP 5.00 admin fee, this is to cover the costs of the order processing we will have already done. We strongly suggest if you have any queries or are uncertain of what you need, please you call us BEFORE placing your order, as refunds cannot be given once work has begun.
The 'Company' manufactures both UK road legal plates and signs. The DVLA regulations state that we must see ORIGINAL Proof of Identity AND Proof of Entitlement for all Road Legal number plates. These are regulations imposed by DVLA, and we strongly urge you to use an insured postal option when sending these to us. We will then return these documents with your order. Please do not submit your order if you are unable to provide this documentation. Signs are manufactured and supplied for 'off road' use only, rally days, car shows, exhibitions and use on private land where the law does not apply. If these signs are put on vehicles using the UK roads you will be committing an offence which upon conviction carries a maximum fine of GBP 1,000. Mis-spacing or mis-representing your letters and numbers is an offence under the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 1971. Plates made as legal plates in England may not necessarily be legal in the county you live in, it is your responsibility to check this with your local police and or vehicle check station.
Delivery, Post and Packing
All orders received are processed, manufactured and despatched within FIVE working days and may require a signature. Please note that once orders are despatched, delivery is the responsibility of the postal service used. We are unable to initiate any claim for 'items missing in the post' until 15 WORKING DAYS have elapsed, therefore if your order is not received within this timescale, please contact us.
If your order is damaged upon delivery OR made incorrectly - It must be reported to us within 7 days. We will then remake or replace or send back your plate to you if found to be acceptable. Please check plates when they arrive and do not place faulty or damaged plates on your vehicle, as they will need to be returned to us. Before returning your order you must contact the Company for a returns number. However, if your plates are not damaged or faulty on delivery, but become defective within a 12 month guarantee period, please return them to us for inspection, or if you have already placed them on your vehicle, provide clear photographic evidence of the defect, so we can arrange replacements to be sent to you.
